As a trustworthy WSHMS audit expert, Quality Safe ensures your workplace is compliant with the Safety and Health Management System regulation in Singapore.

Workplaces Requiring Audits

You must appoint a MOM-approved workplace safety and health auditor listed in the Singapore Accreditation Council Auditing Organisation schedule of an SAC-accredited WSH Auditing Organisation to regularly audit your SHMS if your workplace is a factory engaged in manufacturing fabricated metal products, machinery or equipment, and which employs 100 or more people at least once every 12 months.

SHMS Audit Criteria

Requirements on the Implementation of Safety Management System for the Metalworking Industry (also known as Guidelines on the Implementation of Safety Management System for the Metalworking Industry), 2021 version

Certification based on ISO 45001 is accepted as meeting the audit criteria under the following conditions:

  • Audit is done by an SAC-accredited Certification Body (CB) that is also an SAC-accredited Auditing Organisation (AO).
  • Audit is done by persons who are listed in the SAC AO Schedule and registered through WSH eServices.
  • Audit covers all the “Requirements on the Implementation of Safety Management System for the Metalworking Industry”.

How do WSHMS Audits Work?

An organisation’s SHMS audits are conducted in compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines appointed by the WSH for that specific industry.

As such, the assessment will use the WSH act and all other relevant requirements in order to accurately and fairly evaluate the organisation. This process is incredibly important to maintaining healthy and safe workplaces for people throughout Singapore.
